Jane’s Addiction’s lead singer will seek medical treatment after hitting their guitarist at a show

His wife, Etty Lau Farrell, confirmed it this Sunday.

Etty Lau Farrell, wife of Perry Farrell, shared an update on the health of Jane’s Addiction vocalist after his recent altercation on stage with guitarist Dave Navarro.

In a social media post on Instagram, Etty stated that her husband is taking some time to "reflect and heal". Currently, the 65-year-old musician plans to see an otolaryngologist and a neurologist in the coming days after the cancellation of the band's tour.

"As you know, Perry has the gentlest of souls. We are as shocked as you are by the physical outburst he suffered... but you must know that Perry must have been pushed to his absolute limit... that's why we apologize. We are taking some time for ourselves, to reflect and heal. Perry already has appointments scheduled with an otolaryngologist and a neurologist," explained Etty Lau.

Additionally, the woman mentioned that those who know and love Perry do not need to listen to false narratives about him, emphasizing his kind and compassionate nature.

This was the problem

Last Friday, September 13, during a Jane's Addiction performance at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, specifically while they were playing the song "Ocean Size," the whole concert ended abruptly after a violent confrontation occurred. Farrell, visibly upset, started pushing and attacking Navarro without any apparent reason, which led the security staff to intervene to control the situation and prevent the confrontation from escalating further.

Therefore, Jane's Addiction issued a statement apologizing to fans and announced the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of their tour. The situation has raised concerns among followers, who hope for Perry's speedy recovery and return to music.
