The urban music exponent Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, known worldwide as Daddy Yankee, requested the dissolution of several corporations he maintains with his ex-wife and former business manager, Mireddys González Castellanos, at the Court of First Instance of San Juan, alleging deep personal and business differences that make their joint operation unfeasible.
The lawsuit, filed today on April 23, 2025, comes after the divorce process initiated in December 2024 and formalized by court order in February of this year—although it is not yet final and binding. In the legal petition, the artist points out that the breakup of the relationship also generated “serious controversies” in the management of the companies founded during his career and marriage, and therefore requests the dissolution of Los Cangris Inc., Green Wall Luxury LLC, Crabby Cottage LLC, and C & C Artistic Management Corp.
According to the complaint, González Castellanos maintains total control over Green Wall, Crabby Cottage, and C & C Artistic Management, including financial information, assets, and income —some of which comes from renting at least ten properties— without sharing this data with Ayala, who alleges a complete lack of visibility or involvement.
In the case of Los Cangris, Inc., a key corporation in the artistic development of Daddy Yankee, the artist regained control in December 2024 after another legal dispute and claims to have transferred significant intellectual property rights to this company. Due to his contribution, he maintains that he has a majority stake in this corporation and requests its dissolution based on Article 9.05 of the General Corporations Law of Puerto Rico. Alternatively, he requests its dissolution due to irreconcilable disagreement under Article 9.03, as both parties hold a 50% interest and cannot reach agreements to continue the joint venture.
In addition, the artist stated that the entities Kong Hambre LLC and El Cartel Inc., also linked to his career, have already been dissolved. In the case of El Cartel, he points out that his decision was due to “severe deficiencies in previous administrative management” that made its continuity unfeasible.
Ayala Rodríguez emphasizes in the document that her intention is to conclude all corporate matters and liquidate assets in a legal and orderly manner, but she needs the court’s intervention due to the lack of cooperation between the parties. She also requests that each of them be kept as liquidating trustees of the entities they currently preside over.
The lawsuit is based on articles 9.03 and 19.48 of the General Corporations Law and highlights that “the disagreements and irreconcilable differences [...] practically prevent the normal and responsible development of the operations and viability of these companies.”
The lawsuit was filed by the lawyer, Carlos Díaz Olivo.
This move came after, in response to previous legal actions by Ayala Rodríguez, González Castellanos strengthened their legal team by adding the renowned lawyer Mayra López Mulero and a group of specialized professionals.
López Mulero expressed his concern about the way the case has been handled publicly, as in his opinion, the matter was blown out of proportion and distorted with the purpose of compromising González Castellanos’ reputation.
On the other hand, in March 2025, Daddy Yankee’s legal representation accused González Castellanos of using the judicial process as a “public spectacle”.
