ARLINGTON, TEXAS - In a highly anticipated fight with more elements of spectacle than other cards, 27-year-old Jake Paul defeated boxing legend, Mike Tyson, 58, by unanimous decision after eight rounds.
Paul improved his record to 11-1, with seven knockouts, with most of his fights being against mixed martial artists and experienced boxers.
Tyson's record is now 50-7, with 44 knockouts. The last time the former champion had fought was in the year 2020.
Shortly before the start of the show, MVP announced that ticket sales had exceeded $17.8 million, including a record sale of a VIP suite next to the ring. This was one of the elements from the world of entertainment that was integrated into the lineup, as well as Paul's entrance into the ring, which production seemed more like a wrestling event.
Before the Paul vs. Tyson fight, the rematch of the Puerto Rican, Amanda Serrano against Katie Taylor took place, whose outcome in favor of the Irish was met with boos and criticism.
