Disney plans to “diminish” the premiere of ‘Snow White’ due to the controversies surrounding the film

It seems that the studio wants to prevent Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot from interacting too much with the press.

The live-action version of the 1937 animated classic, “Snow White,” is scheduled to premiere on March 21, 2025, but Disney has surprised by “reducing” the premiere.

Usually, the stars of a film pose and grant interviews at the premiere of a movie, however, the house of the most famous mouse in the world has decided that the stars will only walk and pose for a certain number of photographers.

Disney confirmed that Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot will indeed be present on the red carpet at the premiere of “Snow White” that will take place on March 15 at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, but they will not speak to the press.

Why did Disney decide to limit the premiere of ‘Snow White’?

According to sources close to the production, Disney made the decision to hold a more restricted event, with coverage limited to photographers and an internal team, so that the press would not ask uncomfortable questions to Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot.

It is said that all these precautions were taken due to the controversies surrounding “Snow White,” such as the fact that its protagonist has been criticized for not being white enough or prettier than her counterpart, Gal Gadot.

Likewise, the statements made by Rachel Zegler in previous interviews about the princess story being very outdated because it depends on the prince, whom she never really gets to know, in order to be happy, have not been well received by people.

Likewise, Disney would have wanted to avoid promoting “Snow White” focusing on the supposed feud between the protagonist and Gal Gadot.

Rachel Zegler has expressed her full support for the Palestinian people, while the Israeli-born actress has defended her nation and the decisions made by her government. In fact, at the 2025 Oscars, both of them presented an award and the discomfort between them was evident.
