Travis Kelce had a really tough time last Sunday. The tight end not only watched from the front row as his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, were overrun and missed out on a third consecutive title, but he also had to endure the crowd booing his girlfriend, singer Taylor Swift.
Even Donald Trump, acclaimed special guest of the night, echoed the bad night experienced by the "couple of the moment," joking on his Truth Social account that "the only one who had a worse night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She left the stadium booed. MAGA (Make America Great Again, the Trumpist base) does not forgive!"
How did Travis Kelce feel about the boos towards Taylor Swift during the Super Bowl?
A source close to the tight end spoke to the Daily Mirror to explain how Kelce experienced the whole situation: "Travis knew they were booing Taylor and he felt powerless. Seeing the expression on his face affected him," the source said.
"He always protects her and that broke his heart. She was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was full of Eagles fans didn't help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see it," he added.
Likewise, it has also revealed Kelce's discontent with President Trump: "For many, it is clear that Eagles fans feel that she is a traitor, as she is from Pennsylvania and even wore Eagles clothing before dating him. Travis believes that it was not necessary for Trump to mock her, especially after she expressed that she felt honored that a president was there."
However, the couple will try to overcome this bad moment together, as they have always done: “After Taylor’s defeat at the Grammys and Travis’ defeat in the most important game of the year, it hasn’t been a good week for them. But he knows that, even though it’s not a happy ending for the season, having her love brings him a lot of joy.”
