Sandra Bullock denounces scams involving her name and that of her family

The actress warned her fans to prevent them from falling for a scam.

Sandra Bullock has issued a statement through the media to alert about a series of scams on social networks that use her identity and that of her family. These fake profiles, which deceive the actress’s followers and seek to obtain money, have caused great concern to the movie star, who decided to share her warning message to protect her fans from these dangers.

The complaint comes at a time when her sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, has also been a victim of these fraudulent accounts, which present themselves as official profiles of the actress or her inner circle. The scams have managed to deceive several users, leading some to send large sums of money to the scammers.

A stern warning from Sandra Bullock

On February 3rd, Sandra expressed her concern about the growing wave of scams involving her name. Through an official statement, the actress declared: "My family and the innocent people who are being victims of these scams are my main concern. I will speak more about this in the future, but for now our focus is on helping the authorities handle this matter."

Bullock took the opportunity to make an important clarification: she does not have a presence on social media. "Please note that I do not participate in any form of social media. Any account claiming to be me or someone associated with me is fake and has been created for financial gain or to exploit people around me," she added.

Gesine Bullock-Prado is also affected

Sandra's sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, was the first to alert about these fraudulent profiles. On February 2nd, she shared her experience on Instagram, revealing that she has received disturbing messages from people who believe they have a relationship with her sister. "I spend several times a day reporting fake profiles, dealing with strange and terrifying emails in my business and at home," she confessed.

Gesine also criticized the lack of action by Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, to eliminate these accounts. "When I report, I also do it to a security service that provides the account addresses directly to a Meta employee. Surprise! They are all still active," she lamented.

Sandra's sister added that these fake profiles are not simple isolated incidents, but part of an organized criminal network that also manages Facebook groups where alleged "official statements" from the actress and her family are published. "It's not me. This is my only profile and you know that I only talk about baking, cooking, animals, and gardening. I am a middle-aged adult woman with a life and I don't spend my time sending messages to people," she assured.
