Former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings.
Jones will join the Minnesota practice squad a week after the Giants waived the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft.
Sam Darnold has the Vikings with a record of 9-2. Jones joins Nick Mullens and Brett Rypien in Minnesota's quarterback group. Rookie J.J. McCarthy, who was taken in the first round, missed the season after knee surgery and underwent a second procedure earlier this month.
Jones had a record of 24-44-1 as a starter in New York. His best season was in 2022, when the Giants achieved a record of 9-7-1 and defeated Minnesota on the road in the first round of the playoffs.
Jones completed just 63% of his passes with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions this season.
