The most talented players and the top candidate to be the first selection: guide to the 2025 NFL Draft

Cam Ward, quarterback from Miami, appears to be the number one, but the best player of this generation is Travis Hunter from Colorado, as he can play as a cornerback and receiver.

The Draft is the process in which the 32 teams of the NFL select the best talents from college American football and it has also become a true reality TV show, where teams and young players define their futures over three days in front of millions watching on TV and tens of thousands attending the event live.

Last year, about 12.1 million people watched the first round of the Draft, a number of viewers higher than the 11.3 million who averaged the five games of the NBA Finals in 2024.

This year’s Draft will be held for the first time in Green Bay, where it is expected that 250,000 people will arrive in a city of 105,000 inhabitants. In 2024, Detroit welcomed over 750,000 fans, and thanks to that, the local economy received revenues exceeding $200 million.

When is the 2025 Draft?

The first round of the Draft will take place on Thursday, April 24th at 8 pm ET. The second and third rounds are scheduled for Friday starting at 7 pm, while rounds 4 through 7 will be held on Saturday starting at 12 pm.

The event will be broadcasted on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network in the United States. In Latin America, it can be watched on ESPN.

Which team is choosing first in the Draft?

The NFL sets the Draft order in reverse to the performance of the 2024 season. That’s why the champions Eagles will pick at 32nd place and the first selection belongs to the Titans, the worst team from last year.

The rest of the Top 10 is composed of the Browns, Giants, Patriots, Jaguars, Raiders, Jets, Panthers, Saints, and Bears, in that order.

Who will be the number 1 player ?

Obviously it’s a secret and only at 8 pm we will know what the Titans will do, but according to all the Draft experts, the Tennessee team will select quarterback Cam Ward, from the University of Miami.

The Titans also rejected trading their draft pick, something that has happened on other occasions, such as in 2023 when the Bears gave up the first pick to the Panthers in exchange for one of the best receivers in the league (D.J. Moore) and future draft picks (one of Chicago’s second-round picks this year is part of that deal).

Who are the best players for this draft?

It is almost a certainty that Cam Ward will be the first selection of the 2025 Draft, but that is due to the importance of the quarterback position in the NFL and the Titans’ needs at that position.

According to Daniel Jeremiah, an analyst for NFL Network and one of the top specialists, this is the Top 10 of the best players for the 2025 NFL Draft.

  1. Travis Hunter / Colorado WR-CB: The player coached by Deion Sanders has the very rare ability to play on offense and defense, although he is expected to primarily play cornerback in the NFL.
  2. Abdul Carter / Penn State DE: elite player, who will immediately become one of the defensive figures for the team that selects him.
  3. Ashton Jeanty / Boise State RB: an offensive weapon, with strength and balance.
  4. Mason Graham / Michigan DT: one of the most consistent players in this class.
  5. Jalon Walker / Georgia DE: strength and speed to go after rival quarterbacks.
  6. Tyler Warren / Penn State TE: very similar to Rob Gronkowski for the strength he has after catching a pass.
  7. Colston Loveland / Michigan TE: tall and slim with great focus on the field and ability to make big plays.
  8. Cam Ward / Miami QB: has a lot of strength in his arm and the ability to create plays.
  9. Armand Membou / Missouri OT: will help elevate the level of the offensive line of any team that selects him.
  10. Jahdae Barron / Texas CB: a Swiss Army knife, as he can cover on the outside, in the slot, and even play dime linebacker in passing situations.
