Birmingham will probably be promoted as champions, since they have a 14-point lead over the second-place team, occupied by Wrexham, owned by Hollywood celebrities Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Wycombe is three points behind Wrexham in third place after defeating Huddersfield 1-0 on Tuesday.

What did Tom Brady say about Birmingham’s promotion?

“Back to the English second division, and we’re not done yet. NFL fans are getting an intensive course on English football!” Brady wrote in his Instagram stories.

Brady acquired a stake in Birmingham in August 2023, marking his first foray into the world of football. As president of the new club’s advisory board, he expressed his desire to bring a winning mentality to a club from central England that last played in the Premier League in 2011. That same year, they won the English League Cup, one of the two major trophies the club has captured in its 148-year history.

However, Birmingham was relegated to League One at the end of the 2023-24 season, during which Wayne Rooney had an uncomfortable three-month period as manager before being sacked.

Birmingham has spent a lot in an attempt to return to the second division. Their top scorer is Jay Stansfield, who reportedly cost around 15 million pounds (19 million dollars), making him the most expensive signing for a third division team.

Birmingham could also end the season with a cup, having reached the final of the English Football League Trophy, a competition for teams outside the top two divisions. Their next match will be on Sunday at Wembley Stadium, once again against Peterborough.
