It was attorney José Andréu - one of the singer’s lawyers - who confirmed the information. According to him, the judge’s ruling came after both parties requested that the lawsuit and counterclaim be dismissed.

“We were contacted by the lawyer of [Dennis Sánchez Martin] to inform us that [Dennis Sánchez Martin] was willing to finally do what he had previously proposed, which was nothing more than to withdraw his counterclaim forever and end his lawsuit against [Ricky Martin] forever, in exchange for [Ricky Martin] doing the same, and that’s what we did,” stated the attorney in an interview with journalist and TV presenter Sylvia Hernández.

“Both parties filed a voluntary dismissal with prejudice. This means that the parties mutually agree to have the lawsuit and counterclaim permanently dismissed and put an end to it with an absolute prohibition, as if the case had already been resolved on its merits. It is an absolute prohibition preventing anyone from potentially filing another lawsuit or making similar allegations, either in a subsequent judicial or administrative procedure, or in any other forum. It is a complete termination of the matters,” he added.

In July 2022, Sánchez Martin filed a protection order against the singer for alleged domestic violence against a minor at the time. Although the order was granted to the plaintiff, the young person later requested to have the temporary protection order issued against him revoked.

According to reports, Sánchez Martin claimed that due to his decision to end an alleged relationship he had with Martin Morales, his uncle harassed and followed him to his house on three occasions in a black Range Rover.

After the withdrawal of the order, in September of that same year, Martin Morales filed a civil lawsuit against his nephew for extortion, malicious prosecution, abuse of rights, and damages.

Then, Sánchez Martin filed a counterclaim in May of last year for $10 million for non-consensual sexual conduct.

The interpreter has a restraining order against his nephew, granted by Judge Glenn Velázquez Morales from the Court of First Instance of San Juan, on November 10, 2022.
