Why are the players of Real Madrid being investigated?
According to the continental organization, an ethics and discipline inspector has been appointed “to investigate allegations of indecent conduct” by Antonio Rudiger, Kylian Mbappé, Dani Ceballos, and Vinicius.
UEFA is investigating gestures that may have been directed at local fans as well. Some fans responded by throwing objects and bottles at the players of the white team.
The full statement declared: “A UEFA Ethics and Discipline Inspector has been appointed to investigate allegations of indecent conduct by Real Madrid CF players (Antonio Rüdiger, Kylian Mbappé, Daniel Ceballos Fernández, and Vinícius Júnior) during the UEFA Champions League round of 16 match between Club Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid CF on March 12, 2025. Further information on this matter will be provided in due course.”
Depending on the reports from the Ethics and Discipline Inspector, it will be determined whether the actions of Real Madrid players constitute a violation of the conduct and fair play regulations that govern European competitions, and if faults are found, the club and the players involved could face disciplinary sanctions.
