The information was released after delegations from Russia and Ukraine separately met with representatives from the United States in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The United States accepted the negotiation, setting its commitments with both countries, and emphasizing that President Trump wants to “put an end to the killings on both sides of the conflict” as a “necessary step to achieve lasting peace”.

This ceasefire is a first step towards further agreements between Russia and Ukraine, with the goal of ending the war between the two nations.

The commitment of the United States to Russia and Ukraine

Russia and Ukraine reached a ceasefire agreement under the commitments that the United States assumed for both countries.

The Russians conditioned the Black Sea agreement on the relaxation of restrictions on their agricultural exports.

According to NBC DFW, the White House made two separate and similarly-worded statements. In one of them, regarding talks with the Kremlin, the United States said it would help “restore Russia’s access to the global market for agricultural exports and fertilizers, reduce maritime insurance costs, and improve access to ports and payment systems for such transactions.”

In the second statement, the White House stated that the United States and Ukraine agreed that the United States “remains committed to helping achieve the exchange of prisoners of war, the release of civilian detainees, and the return of Ukrainian children forcibly transferred.”
