In an interview published by GQ on March 25th, Ben Affleck opened up about his divorce, discussing the documentary ‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told’ which is about his marriage to the 55-year-old actress and singer.
In conversation with the person mentioned, they admitted that they had differences, and that part of these differences were due to the different approach that each one has towards fame.
However, he emphasized that when he married Jennifer Lopez, he was aware of her personality, and accepted her as she is. “You don’t marry a ship captain and then say you don’t like water... You have to own what you knew when entering any relationship,” emphasized the 52-year-old actor.
He explained that "as it happens in relationships, you don’t always have the same attitude towards these things... My temperament is a bit more reserved and private than hers." That’s why he emphasized that their different views on fame were not the cause of their divorce. "I think it’s important to say that it wasn’t the cause of a major fracture. It’s not like you can watch that documentary and suddenly understand the issues these two had."

He continued by saying, “This is someone I respect a lot... and I am eager to guess or explore the type of differences in perspective we have in terms of how a person feels comfortable approaching the line between public and private life.”
Regarding the differences, the actor emphasized: “How can you reconcile that? Because I love and support this person, I believe in her, she is wonderful, I want people to see that.” Also, about Jlo’s stance on fame, he stressed that she has “no negativity, no judgment, nothing.”
