According to the lawsuit, Jones allegedly violated the confidentiality of his clients by sharing private communications. These messages, allegedly obtained from a device belonging to Abel, were later quoted in the lawsuit that Lively filed in December 2024.

The 37-year-old actress accuses Baldoni and other members of the production of “It Ends With Us” of harassment and a campaign to damage her public image.

Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, stated that Jones is responsible for triggering the series of legal events. “It is undeniable that Stephanie Jones initiated this catastrophic sequence of events by violating the most basic privacy rights, as well as any remaining trust her clients had,” Freedman claimed.

Problems arose when Abel decided to leave Jonesworks to start his own firm. Shortly before his departure, he was called to a meeting where, according to the lawsuit, he faced a situation of extreme pressure.

During the meeting, a series of documents would have been presented to him and he was demanded to sign them under the supervision of a lawyer and a forensic data extraction expert. It is also mentioned the presence of a security guard preventing his exit.

At the same time, Baldoni also filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times, accusing the media outlet of defamation and privacy violation, following the publication of reports based on leaked messages.

The legal dispute surrounding It Ends With Us continues to escalate, with multiple lawsuits currently underway that could have significant implications for the entertainment industry.
