In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the actress revealed details about her character and the intense relationship she maintains with Chalamet’s character in the film. “We have a lot of sex in this movie,” confessed Paltrow. “There is a lot, a lot.” Her statement is not surprising, as during filming, images of both actors passionately kissing were leaked, fueling the public’s curiosity about the nature of their relationship in the story.

The movie is a biopic about Marty Reisman, a legendary ping-pong player who started his career by betting on the streets of Manhattan and ended up winning numerous titles in this sport. Paltrow plays the wife of one of Reisman’s rivals, a woman who has gone through tough times and finds in the young athlete a way to rediscover her lost passion and youth.
“It’s something transactional for both,” the actress explained about the relationship between her characters. One of the aspects that caught Paltrow’s attention the most was the presence of an intimacy coordinator on set. “I didn’t know that role existed,” she admitted. However, when asked about her limits for the more risqué scenes, she responded with humor.
“I am from the era when you undress, get into bed, and the camera is on.” Finally, both she and Chalamet asked the coordinator to keep a certain distance to not interfere with their artistic process.

Paltrow also joked about the age difference between her and her costar. “I thought, ‘Great. I’m 109 years old and you’re 14,’” she commented with laughter. However, she highlighted Chalamet’s professionalism, describing him as a committed, fun, and extremely polite actor.
The premiere of “Marty Supreme” is scheduled for the end of the year, and it promises to be one of the most talked-about releases, both for the chemistry between its protagonists and for the direction of Joshua Safdie, who has stated that Paltrow has a “gravitational force that only a camera can capture.”
