Trump describes as “terrorists” individuals detained for attacks against Tesla and wants to send them to a prison in El Salvador

These statements are a new chapter in the US president's staunch defense against Elon Musk, his right-hand man in the government.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, hopes that individuals detained for attacks against vehicles and facilities of Tesla, the company of Elon Musk, his right-hand man in the government, be sentenced to 20 years in prison as “terrorists,” and suggested that they serve their sentence in prisons in El Salvador.

Trump described the people who have carried out these attacks in various places in the United States as “sick terrorist thugs.”

The prosecution has already filed charges for the alleged throwing of incendiary devices at Tesla facilities and vehicles in Colorado, Oregon, and South Carolina.

“I hope that (...) are sentenced to 20 years in prison for what they have done to Elon Musk and Tesla. Perhaps they should serve them in prisons in El Salvador, which have become famous for their pleasant conditions,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social network, days after ordering the deportation of hundreds of migrants to the Central American country.

Most of these people are Venezuelans accused of belonging to the Aragua Train gang and were imprisoned in CECOT, Nayib Bukele’s government high-security prison.

This is not Trump’s first defense of Elon Musk.

In recent months, several protests have been recorded, many of them peaceful, at Tesla car dealerships, but there have also been violent attacks, including Molotov cocktails and shootings.

The protests are aimed at the power of Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, in the Trump administration and the cuts he has pushed through DOGE with threats and massive layoffs.

When these incidents began, Trump used the White House to commercially promote Tesla.

This Friday in the Oval Office and asked about his post on Truth Social, Trump reaffirmed that he considered “terrorists” the people who committed these acts of vandalism.

And he went even further, as according to Trump, in the January 2021 vandalism incidents at the Capitol, one of the most serious for the democracy of the United States in its history: "This didn’t happen on January 6th...no one died, which is quite striking," and then added that the only person who died was a protester.

What Trump forgets or did not want to mention is that in the assault by his supporters on the Capitol, 140 police officers were injured and one of them died the day after from a stroke. In addition, since then, four officers have committed suicide.

All the Capitol attackers, including those who were convicted, were pardoned by Trump.
