Netflix reveals the trailer for ‘Happy Gilmore 2’, bringing back the famous character played by Adam Sandler

It has been almost 30 years since the first movie was released, and several characters are returning for the new installment.

The plot of the first film, released in 1996, focuses on Happy, a aspiring hockey player who has not been able to join any team due to his bad temper.

Netflix has finally released the trailer for ‘Happy Gilmore 2’, the sequel to the comedy classic starring Adam Sandler, which everyone has been waiting for since it was announced in March 2024 that they were working on it.

Last March, Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin, Happy Gilmore’s rival, revealed that Adam Sandler was working on a sequel with Netflix, and finally we have the first trailer.

On March 18th, Adam Sandler shared the trailer for “Happy Gilmore 2” on his Instagram account and wrote: “I hope everyone has fun and thank you for all the good times.”

In addition to Christopher McDonald’s return, we will also see the return of Happy’s love interest, Virginia, played by actress Julie Bowen. Additionally, the following figures will have a special appearance in this film: Margaret Qualley, Nick Swardson, Benny Safdie, Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi), Eminem, and Dan Patrick.

The main cast of “Happy Gilmore 2” is complemented by Ben Stiller, Bad Bunny, Sadie Sandler, John Daly, Sunny Sandler, Conor Sherry, Ethan Cutkosky, Philip Fine Schneider, Blake Clark, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Travis Kelce, Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, and Paige Spiranic.

The world premiere of “Happy Gilmore 2” is scheduled for July 25, 2025, and it will be available on Netflix.
