What is a music residency?

A concert residency or musical residency is a series of concerts, similar to a concert tour, but held only at the same venue.

To establish a musical residency, it is expected that the artist performs a minimum of ten shows at the selected coliseum, stadium, arena, or venue, so undoubtedly, the new arrival of Bad Bunny at the Coliseum constitutes his first residency and the first to be held at the popular stage.

Concert residencies gained notoriety and have been a constant element in Las Vegas for decades. The series of concerts was initiated by the legendary pianist Liberace in the 1940s and Frank Sinatra with the so-called Rat Pack in the 1950s.
