Gene Hackman’s wife’s doctor claims that she called him on the day of his alleged death

As the days have passed, more and more details of what supposedly happened to the couple have been revealed.

The world was shaken last February with the tragic news of the death of legendary Hollywood actor Gene Hackman, along with his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and their dog. The couple was found in their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and after several days of uncertainty and speculation, the investigation revealed that they had all died of natural causes, including their pet, but each on different days.

As the days have passed, more and more details of what supposedly happened have been revealed. Last week, the forensic doctor indicated that Betsy had reportedly died on February 11th of hantavirus, a respiratory disease transmitted by rodents, while Gene died from heart failure combined with his Alzheimer’s disease. Authorities pointed out that it was very likely that Hackman had been living with his wife’s body for days without realizing anything, due to the advanced stage of his illness.

What did Gene Hackman’s wife’s doctor say now?

On March 16th, a new detail was revealed. And it is that Betsy’s doctor, Dr. Josiah Child, stated that “Mrs. Hackman did not die on February 11th because she called his clinic on February 12th.”

“He called me a couple of weeks before his death to ask for an echocardiogram for her husband. He was not my patient, but one of my patients recommended Cloudberry to him. She asked for an appointment for herself on February 12th. It was for something unrelated to breathing,” as reported by Daily Mail.

“He called back on the morning of February 12th and spoke with one of our doctors, who told him to come that afternoon. We scheduled an appointment for him, but he never showed up. He did not show any symptoms of respiratory distress. The appointment was not related to hantavirus. We tried calling him a couple of times but did not get a response,” adds Dr. Josiah. His statements cast doubt on the coroner’s claim, as in this case, the person would not have died on February 11th, but a day later.”
