Trump uses the White House to come to the rescue of Tesla and Elon Musk

Since late January, Musk's company has been under scrutiny and in recent weeks, protests against Tesla and Elon himself have been increasing.

Although that closeness might be harming Elon Musk, Donald Trump continues to prove to be one of his biggest supporters. This past Monday, amid a sharp drop in the US stock market due to Trump’s tariff policy, Tesla’s shares fell by over 15% on Wall Street. However, to show his support for Musk’s brand, the President of the United States purchased a car from the famous brand and accompanied the purchase with a whole display at the White House.

Since late January, Musk’s company has been under scrutiny and in recent weeks, protests against Tesla and Elon himself have been increasing, with graffiti and Molotov cocktails as well as fires in charging stations. The attacks have escalated nationwide and have fueled the debate about Musk’s role in the Trump administration and his impact on society, as highlighted by CBS News.

What did Donald Trump say about Tesla and about Elon Musk?

After midnight on Monday, the Republican president came out in defense of his ally, stating that he was doing “a FANTASTIC JOB” and accusing “radical left lunatics” of trying to “illegally boycott Tesla, one of the world’s largest car manufacturers and Elon’s baby.”

He not only had words of praise for Musk but also pointed out that he will buy a car from the brand on his Truth Social account, his social network: "I’m going to buy a new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American," he posted in support of the entrepreneur born in South Africa.

“Why should I be punished for putting your tremendous ability to work to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN?” asked the president.

This Tuesday, Trump, who had been a staunch critic of electric cars like Tesla in the past, made the purchase with a display of Tesla models at the White House, opting for a red model.

“I think he has been treated very unfairly by a very small group of people. And I just want people to know that you can’t penalize him for being a patriot," Trump told reporters about Musk, who invested over 200 million dollars in his presidential campaign and has been appointed by the president himself to lead a controversial and radical reform of the federal government.
