The love story between the soccer star and Shakira began in 2010 when they met during the recording of the video for Waka Waka, the official anthem of the South Africa World Cup. This was Piqué‘s uncomfortable reaction to the question about Shakira

During the live broadcast, while both were reacting to a Kings League match, the conversation took an unexpected turn when Piqué asked WestCol about his past relationship with ‘La Parce’, a Colombian content creator and co-president of Atlético Parceros. WestCol replied naturally that she had been his first girlfriend years ago, but what no one expected was the jab he would immediately throw: “Was Shakira your girlfriend at some point?”

The reaction of the former footballer was quite uncomfortable, although he tried to handle the situation calmly. It was then that WestCol said to him, “Do you get it? It’s uncomfortable for me too, daddy,” alluding to how unpleasant certain questions about personal life can be. The phrase left Piqué speechless and quickly went viral on social media, where many users applauded the audacity of the Colombian streamer.
