The premiere of the new Netflix series With Love, Meghan has sparked controversy, especially due to the stories that the Duchess of Sussex shares about her childhood. One of the harshest critics has been her estranged half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., who did not hesitate to discredit several of her claims.

In a recent interview on the British show TalkTV, Thomas Markle Jr. described the series as “tasteless” and “generic.” However, his main objection was towards Meghan’s stories about her childhood, which he described as “absurd” and detached from reality. According to him, the duchess has distorted her past to fit a more dramatic narrative.

According to her half-brother, Meghan Markle never cooked much
One of the points of controversy was Meghan’s claim about her alleged passion for cooking since she was a child.
Thomas contradicted this version, stating that his younger sister “did not cook anything for anyone while growing up.” While he acknowledged that their mother, Doria Ragland, was a great cook, he denied that Meghan had a special interest in gastronomy during her youth.
Another statement that generated reactions was Meghan’s reference to her “underprivileged” past, mentioning that she used to eat fast food at places like Jack in the Box and Taco Bell.
However, Thomas refuted this claim and stated that the former actress never experienced significant financial difficulties. “We were not poor. Meghan didn’t have to count coins to eat at Sizzler,” he said. He also mentioned that the family frequented iconic Hollywood restaurants such as Musso & Frank Grill and Hamburger Hamlet.
The series, which aims to redefine lifestyle programs with a focus on cooking, gardening, and hospitality, has been met with skepticism.
Despite the controversy, Meghan Markle continues with her project, trusting that it will resonate with the audience after its premiere on March 4, 2025, following a delay from its original release date.
