In the video, the actress expressed, “I started in this industry when I was 10 years old and I have grown up in front of the world. For some reason, people can’t grow with me. Instead, they expect me to remain frozen in time.”
Brown also pointed out that scrutiny over her appearance is a problem that affects many young women growing up in the public eye. After the actress and her followers' reaction, Lucas turned to Instagram to apologize and clarify his intentions.
“Dear Millie, I just saw your post and I want to respond to provide some context. Almost 25 years ago, I co-wrote and acted in a sketch show called Little Britain. There was a character in it named Vicky Pollard, who had blonde hair and always wore a pink blouse. In the photo you posted, you had blonde hair and were wearing a pink blouse, so I mentioned the similarity,” wrote Lucas.

Additionally, Matt Lucas stated that his intention was never to criticize her and that he felt horrified when the press interpreted his words as an attack. “I thought you looked fantastic and I realize that it bothered you, so I apologize,” concluded the comedian.
The debate about the pressure faced by young women in the entertainment industry is still ongoing, and Brown has made it clear that she will not allow media scrutiny to define her image or her career, nor let the media continue to affect her mental health.
