An unusual event occurred on Monday at the El Tepual Airport in Puerto Montt, in southern Chile, when a man abruptly entered the runway of the air terminal with the intention of preventing a plane from taking off.

The 29-year-old passenger was unable to board his Latam Airlines flight to Concepción. In order to reach his goal, the individual chose to violate the strict security measures of the airport and ran towards the runway where the plane was performing pre-takeoff maneuvers.

According to data provided by Radio Bio-Bío, the arrested passenger has a criminal record, including previous arrests for theft and threats.
