The new cooking show by Meghan Markle on Netflix has not received very good reviews. In the show, called ‘With Love, Meghan’, Prince Harry’s wife tries to show what her everyday life is like, presenting cooking and gardening guides, but she is met with harsh criticism, claiming that what she does least is show her real life, and that she only seeks to satisfy her narcissism.

In the eight-episode program, Meghan showcases her skills at home. Allegedly, it is in her house in Montecito, California, but critics highlight that it is not her home, rather a set, completely prepared to display everything perfectly.

The Duchess of Sussex invites several famous friends, such as Mindy Kaling, and showcases spending time with them, wanting to highlight the value of friendship, but instead, some accuse her of wanting to show off “business plugs.”

“An exercise in narcissism, filled with extravagant brunches, celebrity pals and business plugs,” said the editor Anita Singh in the Telegraph, as reported by the New York Post. Meanwhile, Caroline Frost, a columnist for Radio Times, wrote that Markle could not “reimagine the lifestyle programming genre.”

Does not rule out that the show might be a failure like their docuseries ‘Harry & Meghan’ in 2022.

“It probably won’t change things, unless the general public suddenly develops a hankering for long-running TV shows about a woman who fills children’s party bags with manuka seeds and honey,” criticized Stuart Heritage, a television writer, in The Guardian, who added: “Nobody wants to see Meghan making decorative ladybug crostini with Mindy Kaling.”

According to The Post, on the British show ‘Loose Women’, panelist Jane Moore highlighted that while no one wants to see her doing things in the kitchen, many would be interested in seeing what her house is like, but Meghan Markle didn’t take advantage of that.

Even if you are not interested in doing things at home, you will see it to learn more about your house. You don’t see your house, it’s a rented house in the future,” emphasized Moore.

Meghan Markle and “the hard to ignore”

In The Mirror, writer Jennifer Newton noted that something that catches her attention is that everything appears very perfect. There are no kitchen stains, when normally, this space gets dirty, nor does it become disorganized; Meghan Markle looks impeccable at all times; even “when her friend Daniel accidentally cuts his finger while slicing some tomatoes, of course, Meghan has some stylish green bandages to cover his bleeding wound.”

Everything seems very staged. "Even though Meghan’s program evokes a feast for the eyes, there’s one thing that’s too hard to ignore: everything is too perfect‚" expressed Newton, who concluded: “There’s nothing wrong with wanting to present the best version of yourself or your kitchen. However, no matter how hard you try, no one is that perfect or edited all the time, and there’s nothing wrong with Meghan admitting it.”
