“Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Sandler,” announced Nicholson, unleashing the applause of the audience. Sandler, 58, returned the gesture enthusiastically. “Yes, baby! A round of applause for Jack! Jack came out tonight. I love you, brother,” exclaimed the comedian.

Nicholson and Sandler shared the screen in the hit comedy “Locos de ira” (2003), where the veteran actor played a peculiar therapist helping Sandler’s character control his emotions.

Accompanied by his 34-year-old daughter Lorraine, Nicholson wore an all-black outfit, with a Yankees beret and sunglasses with purple-tinted lenses. After the event, he was seen returning to his hotel with the help of a cane.

Despite his legendary career, Nicholson has never hosted “SNL”. However, he made a special appearance at the show’s 40th anniversary in 2015. In the last decade, the actor has kept a low profile, with his last film credit in 2010 with “How Do You Know”.

His previous public appearance was in May 2023, when he attended the Western Conference Finals of the NBA between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets. Weeks earlier, he was also seen at a playoff game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

A decades-long Lakers season ticket holder, Nicholson used to be a constant presence in the arena, especially during the team’s golden era in the 90s and 2000s.

In his return to the court, he was greeted with a montage of his classic movies while he enjoyed the game from his preferred seat. Although his public appearances are increasingly rare, his family occasionally shares photographs of the actor, keeping his legacy alive among his fans.
