Kendrick Lamar continues to generate comments following his performance at the Super Bowl 2025, not only for his powerful performance but also for his striking outfit. The rapper wore $1,300 Celine jeans that, according to close sources, were initially reserved for Timothée Chalamet, who is known for his unique style. Both artists share the same stylist, Taylor McNeil, which could explain the connection of this look.

A source revealed to Page Six that McNeil had selected several pairs of denim jeans for Lamar’s performances at the Grammys and Super Bowl, but it was the pair of women’s pants, size 29, from Celine, that ended up fitting the rapper’s hips perfectly, despite having a waist size of 33.

Although it has not been officially confirmed by the representatives of those involved, the choice of pants seems to have been an unexpected yet fortunate twist for the luxury brand Celine, which experienced a moment of great exposure during the show.

Fans quickly split into debates about the style of the jeans: some described them as flared cut, while others saw them as more fitted. However, the official Celine website classifies them as “flared surf jeans in a summery wash”, which further highlights the versatility and style of the model.

Although size 29 is ideal for Chalamet, who is 5 feet and 10 inches tall, the length of the pants turned out to be a topic of discussion, as Lamar is 5 feet and 5 inches tall. The fit seems to have been a curious subject, but there’s no doubt that the look ended up working on stage.

To complete the ensemble, Lamar paired the jeans with a custom blue leather varsity jacket from Martine Rose, which included archival sports panels and bespoke embroidery. On his cap, the rapper sported an elegant Rahaminov diamond brooch valued at $68,000, a touch of luxury to complement his outfit.

The performance of Kendrick at the Super Bowl

Regarding his performance, Lamar stood out not only for his style, but also for his energy on stage. In an exclusive interview with Apple Music, Lamar explained that his approach has always been to keep the essence of the sport in his music. During the event, the Super Bowl broke audience records, and Lamar’s participation was key to attracting more viewers.

The show had several surprising moments, including the cameo of tennis player Serena Williams, who walked to the rhythm of Lamar’s hit song “Not Like Us,” which earned him five Grammy awards last week. Additionally, Lamar performed darker songs from his recent album GNX, such as “Man at the Garden” and “Peekaboo,” with special narration by Samuel L. Jackson as Uncle Sam.

Lamar reflected on his career and his approach to success: “My way of processing it all is just… I’m still doing what I did 10 years ago, and that is, getting better at myself, getting better at the craft, and not looking at the bright lights… I have to look at myself in the mirror instead of looking at the crowd or, you know, the fame and the attention.
