Colbert was identified as the main suspect after security cameras captured her leaving Manzano's room in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police reveal details about the death of Adan Manzano
The Kenner police have indicated that they are investigating the possibility that Manzano may have been drugged before his death, although toxicology results may take weeks to be available.
During the search of Colbert's residence, the police found the journalist's credit card and phone, which were used in several fraudulent purchases in the New Orleans area.
Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley described Colbert as a "career criminal," noting that her criminal record includes multiple similar incidents. In 2022, she was accused in Las Vegas of drugging men at casinos to steal cash, gaming chips, and electronic devices from them.
However, at that time, the charges were dismissed because the victims did not testify against him. Since his arrest, the police have received reports of other possible victims of Colbert and of suspicious deaths under similar circumstances. Authorities have assured that all will be investigated.
Danette Colbert is awaiting trial in Louisiana.
While authorities investigate all aspects of the Manzano case and the background of his possible killer, Colbert remains detained at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, awaiting judicial proceedings. The tragic death of Manzano has left a deep sadness among his colleagues and loved ones.
Telemundo Kansas City described him as “a true professional and rising star,” while Tico Sports highlighted his dedication and passion for sports journalism. Manzano leaves behind an orphaned daughter, as his wife, Ashleigh LeAnn Boyd Manzano, passed away in a car accident in April 2024.
