Less than a month after taking office as the new president of the United States, Donald Trump has a 53% approval rating, according to a first survey to measure his acceptance.

USA Today reported that the measurement was done by CBS News/YouGov, specifying that this percentage of approval from the respondents was when they were asked whether they approve or disapprove of the work of the Republican president. Another 47% answered that they disapprove; 31% said they strongly approve; 22% approve somewhat; 9% disapprove somewhat; and 38% strongly disapprove.

The questions were asked to 2,175 adults in the United States between February 5 and 7, 2025, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 points.
The survey not only inquired about the presidential management, but also about how much Americans are paying attention to political news after the 2024 presidential elections. 45% stated that they are paying "a lot of attention"; 35% that they are paying "some" attention; 15% said they are paying "not much" attention; and 5% are not paying any attention.

In one of the items, they were asked if they believe that President Donald Trump is doing more than expected, so 49% said yes; 9% said he is doing less; and approximately 41% expressed that he is doing what they expected him to do.
Of the people who stated that Trump is doing more than expected, 61% said they like what he is doing, while 39% said they do not like his actions in government.
When asked what words they would use to describe the president, the majority describe him as "tough" or "difficult", and 63% do not believe he is "compassionate".
It was found that 70% of the respondents said that Trump is doing what he promised to do during the campaign, while 30% said he is doing something different.
The study also revealed that 66% believe that the president is very unfocused on lowering the prices of goods and services; 49% indicated that he is focusing too much on imposing tariffs on goods and services.
When asked if the focus on deporting immigrants is too much, 44% said it is focused correctly on this issue and 43% said it is focusing too much.
