The journalist's wife died last year in an accident.
The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office reported in a statement that Manzano passed away in a hotel in Kenner, Louisiana, on the outskirts of New Orleans.
Although the autopsy has already been completed, the cause of death is still pending the results of additional tests, as reported by the media outlet NOLA.com.
Originally from Mexico City, Manzano graduated from Kansas State University and had recently joined the television team of the Kansas City Chiefs as a sideline reporter at the start of the last NFL season, according to KCTV, a Fox affiliate.
Manzano's death occurs less than a year after the tragic loss of his wife, Ashleigh LeeAnn Boyd, who died in a car accident on April 11, 2024, as reported by WIBW, a CBS affiliate.
The journalistic and sports community mourns the departure of Manzano, who with his passion and professionalism left an indelible mark on sports coverage in Kansas City and beyond. His work and dedication will be remembered by his colleagues and followers.
