Brands will pay up to $8 million for a 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl

Companies that want more than 30 seconds of commercial time must pay for that extra time.

The USA Today Ad Meter reports that since 2023, the highest payment for a commercial in the Super Bowl had been seven million dollars, but in this 2025, there are brands willing to pay eight million, the highest price in the history of the sporting event.

How long does a commercial last during the Super Bowl? The hefty sum that brands will pay is for a 30-second slot, those who want more must pay extra for additional seconds.

The aforementioned source states that companies pay up to 4.5 million dollars for pre-game ads, and that others spend an average of 4 million dollars on post-game ads.

State Farm had the best commercial of the Super Bowl in 2024, but after the fires in Los Angeles, they announced that this year they will not be airing ads, just like major automotive companies such as Kia, Toyota, and Honda.

The empty commercial space of automotive companies is not new, it has been decreasing during the last few years in this sports event, something that other sectors have taken advantage of to capture the market.
