Selena Gomez Receives Support from Flavor Flav After Complaining About Mass Deportations

In the video, the singer and actress appears to be very affected by the situation and comments, “All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.” Following the video’s viral spread, the former member of Public Enemy quickly took to his socials to support her.

Through his X account, the rapper wrote: “Team Selena Gomez. Again,” highlighting the bravery of the “Only Murders in the Building” star. Additionally, Flavor Flav added, “That woman is always so brave to share her truth, and so many are quick to bully her.” Similarly, many of the rapper’s followers joined in expressing their support for Gomez.

The clip, which quickly went viral, was deleted shortly afterward by Gomez herself. However, reactions were not long in coming. While some supported her sensitivity and empathy, others criticized her fiercely. Sam Parker, a former Republican Senate hopeful from Utah, even suggested on X that the singer be deported.

Selena Gomez Sparks Huge Controversy on Social Media

Amid the controversy, the artist responded with irony to Parker in her Instagram story, but the criticism did not cease. Tom Homan, former director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and current “border czar” for Trump, defended the immigration raids and stated that they will not apologize for enforcing the law.

Over the years, Gomez has been an advocate for migrants’ rights, an issue that is close to her heart due to her Mexican heritage. In 2019, she wrote an essay in Time recalling her family’s difficult migration history. Additionally, she was the executive producer of the documentary “Living Undocumented,” which exposes the challenges faced by migrants in the United States.
