On the night of Monday, January 27, social media exploded after Daneidy Barrera Rojas, better known as ‘Epa Colombia,’ revealed that she had been arrested by CTI agents who arrived at her new commercial establishment located in El Restrepo in Bogotá. While the influencer was being taken to the Prosecutor’s Office bunker, her employees were trying to fix the damages left behind by the procedure.
Despite this, few remember which video led to the Supreme Court of Justice's condemnation against Epa Colombia, who filmed herself during the social unrest in 2019 participating in the massive protests that took place in the country's capital. In these demonstrations, the influencer Daneidy Barrera Rojas was recorded committing three crimes for which she was sentenced to five years and two months in prison.
What was the video that led Epa Colombia to end up in jail?
The video recorded by Epa Colombia at that time was during one of the protests against the Government in 2019, when the country was in the midst of a social uprising due to the decisions made by the Duque Government in economic matters. Because of this, millions of people took to the streets in various cities across the country to protest against the Government at that time.
For this reason, Epa Colombia took to the streets to join the popular voice that rose up against social injustices. In the video, the influencer is seen destroying a TransMilenio station with a hammer, and also encouraging her followers to do the same as she was doing in the video. This is why the Supreme Court was harsh on Epa Colombia.
