Selena Gomez is not coming out very well from the controversy that arose from the criticisms she received from actor and film director Eugenio Derbez, as she is now involved in a new controversy, this time with the government of the new President of the United States, Donald Trump. The actress posted videos of herself crying over deportations, which prompted a response from Tom Homan, in charge of border affairs, who urged her to go to Congress and change the law. Former Republican senator Sam Parker joined the comments against the actress, urging for her deportation.

"Deport Selena Gomez," wrote Sam Parker on Monday, January 27 on his X account, reposting the video of the artist crying because "they are attacking all my people."

Parker, who lost in the 2018 Senate elections in Utah, stated that "Selena Gomez chose the illegals over the United States because she is a third-generation descendant of Mexican illegals who were granted citizenship in the 1987 amnesty."

The former senator added: "She has a sense of entitlement towards the United States, just like her illegal grandparents. Maybe Selena should also be deported?"

San Parker's request to deport the actress sparked both supportive and opposing comments. Some people supported Gomez: "What's wrong with being connected to where you come from?", "You're not American. You might even be a robot," are some messages on the former senator's account. Others condemned the actress' attitude: "The United States has been pretty good to her, don't you think?", "Go with them Selena (with the deported ones)," "She's a wealthy puppet of the elite and has an assigned role: to play a good Mexican girl. There's nothing genuine about her construction. She does as she's told."

Can Selena Gomez be deported?

The request from former senator Sam Parker is not possible, as Selena Gomez is American, born in Grand Prairie, Texas, on July 22, 1992. She cannot be deported because she is a citizen of this country.

Her mother is the American actress, producer, and director Mandy Teefey-Cornett. Her father is Ricardo Joel Gomez, of Mexican descent. In 1970, Selena’s paternal grandparents emigrated from Monterrey, Mexico, to Texas.
