Marco Chacón, husband of actress Maribel Guardia, spoke for the first time about the conflict the artist is having with her ex-daughter-in-law Imelda Garza Tuñón regarding the custody of their seven-year-old grandson, José Julián.
In the midst of the dispute, Garza expressed that the problems began when she told Guardia that her husband had been unfaithful to her with a student for two or three years.
In a statement to the press, Maribel Guardia's husband defended himself and assured that the situation has nothing to do with him, but rather it is a legal action that Maribel Guardia is taking for the well-being of her grandson.
"This has nothing to do with me, at all. I am not asking for anything for myself. Certain facts are being reported... Furthermore, something that must be made very clear is that I am not the one behind this, it is the grandmother. I have absolutely nothing to do with the issue, it is not a personal matter of mine because it is a matter of the grandmother seeking the well-being of the child," Chacón stated, as reported by People en Español.
He indicated that the conflict started years ago and gradually worsened, that they tried to talk and offered help to Garza, but it was not possible and that is why they had to act in the best interest of little José Julián.
"The reasons have been given successively. There may be people who say, 'I can talk about this'; you offer help and when people deny any possibility of being helped, then there is a problem... It's very complicated, over time things get worse and there is no choice but to seek the child's well-being," he stated.
One of Guardia's accusations against his ex-daughter-in-law is that she leaves the house and leaves the child alone. He even claims that sometimes she is gone for several days and returns under the influence of alcohol, he does not know if also drugs.
Maribel Guardia's husband: "It's nothing personal"
Maribel Guardia's husband stated that what is happening is not personal against Garza, but rather everything is for the child.
"This is nothing personal, there's nothing more... This is for the good of the child. We don't want to harm him in any way. What I would tell her is to try to be well, because that's the most important thing."
It is known that in the midst of the investigations, psychiatric tests were allegedly carried out on Imelda Garza’s parents. It had been mentioned that she had also undergone several tests, but the woman denied it.
