Fox News published the content of Biden's letter, in which he wishes the best to Trump as president, a position he described as "sacred". He also expressed his wishes for prosperity and peace for the nation.
"Dear President Trump, as I bid farewell to this sacred office, I wish you and your family all the best in the next four years. The American people — and people around the world — look to this house for stability in the inevitable storms of history, and my prayer is that the coming years will be a time of prosperity, peace, and grace for our nation," says Biden's letter to Trump.
Dated January 20, 2025, the letter, signed by Joe Biden, concluded: "May God bless you and guide you as He has blessed and guided our beloved country since its founding."
Trump said that Biden’s letter was “nice”
The New York Post reported that Donald Trump stated he found the letter on Monday in the Oval Office desk drawer.
In statements given to journalists on Tuesday in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, the new United States president indicated that the letter was "nice" and "very pleasant."
“Basically, it was a bit of an inspirational type of letter, you know, ‘Enjoy it. Do a good job... I think I should let people see it, because it was positive for him,” said Trump, who showed the envelope with the letter, which said on the outside 47, as the new president is the 47th of this country.”
