Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and the Eagles will host Jayden Daniels and the Commanders in the National Conference final, on Sunday, January 26th, at 3 pm ET at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. It will be the first time these teams, rivals in the NFL’s East Division, face each other at this stage.
The Washington team, which surprisingly defeated the favorites Lions on Saturday night, will be seeking their first trip to the Super Bowl since 1991, while the Philadelphia team is looking to return to the biggest sports event in the United States after two years.
How did the Eagles qualify for the NFC final?
The Eagles advanced on Sunday with a 28-22 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Barkley ran for 205 yards, including touchdown runs of 62 and 78 yards, and the Philadelphia defense stood firm on the final play with Jalen Carter sacking Matthew Stafford for a 9-yard loss. Stafford then threw an incomplete pass on fourth and 11, and the game was over.
This will be the third time that the Eagles and Commanders face each other this season, with one win each at home. The Eagles defeated Washington 26-18 in a Thursday night game on November 14th and the Commanders recovered for a 36-33 victory on December 22nd in a game where Hurts suffered a concussion in the first quarter.
The game between the Eagles and Rams in Philadelphia was full of emotions, especially because of the difficulty that both teams faced playing in heavy snow that fell heavily in the last quarter. The most affected were the receivers and also the kickers, who were limited to short-distance field goals.
Anyway, Jake Elliott from the Eagles made two crucial field goals in the final stage.
