Son of Héctor Travieso days after his death: “What happened could have been prevented”

The entertainer died due to a heart attack.

Manolo Travieso, the youngest son of Héctor Travieso, posted a message on his father’s Facebook page stating that the actor’s death “could have been avoided.”

"The one writing to you today on this page is Héctor Travieso's youngest son, Manolo Travieso. Today, for the first time since Daddy passed away, I write to all of you who always supported him. What happened, I believe, could have been avoided but we must move forward! Thank you all and if you'd like, I can share never-before-seen photos of my Father here. Like he always used to say, God bless you. MT," stated the man on the social media platform.

At the moment, it is unknown why Manolo made the expressions. The entertainer was a father of three, his other two children are named Laura and Hector Jr.

Last week, his descendants revealed that the 73-year-old man passed away due to a heart attack.

"Yesterday, January 6th, Papi, who for you was and will be Héctor Travieso, passed away due to a cardiac arrest," reads a press release shared by the television program La Comay (TeleOnce) on Facebook.

They also took the opportunity to thank "Lola" (Isabelita), Travieso's wife, for staying by his side at all times; and the public for the "solidarity" and "support" they have received throughout the process.

"We kindly ask for space, so that as a family we can work on this in privacy. Later on, we will be able to have a conversation and provide more specific statements," they specified.

The news of the Cuban's death was confirmed by the entertainment program on social media. Travieso was the host of this show for many years when it was broadcast on Wapa Televisión under the name "SúperXclusivo".

"Sadly, our dear friend, coworker, and life companion Héctor Travieso passed away today. We join in the sorrow of his family and wish them strength. May our dear Héctor Travieso rest in peace. Tomorrow we will have details of his passing," reads the post.

The man was part of multiple acting projects both locally and in the United States. He participated in "El Show de Raymond" on Wapa TV in the early 2000s and was part of films such as "La Guagua Aérea" and "Under Suspicion".

During La Comay's return to Mega TV in 2019, Travieso was part of the project for a few months. However, he left in March for personal reasons.

Subsequently, the hosts Roque Gallart and Yan Ruiz have been the ones who have accompanied the character of "La Comay" through its different phases, both on Mega TV and currently on TeleOnce.
