Bad Bunny has also ventured into the film industry

When asked if he connected with the star of Billy Madison, 30-year-old Bad Bunny responded enthusiastically: “Pshhh. That’s my uncle. Adam Sandler is my uncle.” To support his claim, he showed the reporter his message tray, where Sandler is saved as “Uncle Sandler.”

“She’s really cool,” added the singer, who recently released his album I Should Have Taken More Pictures on January 5th.

Bad Bunny’s participation in Happy Gilmore 2 was announced in September 2024, marking his debut in a high-profile comedy. According to the artist, it was an exciting challenge that coincided with another completely different project: Caught Stealing, directed by Darren Aronofsky.

“I really liked that they were so different,” he said about the two projects. “I can’t wait for them to come out so that people say, ‘Wow’. I think with what’s coming, I’ll be able to focus more on making movies.”

The cast of Happy Gilmore 2 promises to be equally stellar, with names like Travis Kelce, Ben Stiller, Julie Bowen, Margaret Qualley, and Christopher McDonald. For BadBunny, these new forays into cinema are a testament to his artistic versatility.

“I will always make music, but I would like to dedicate some time just to acting,” he confessed. “I think that when those two movies are released, people will say, ‘Wow, this guy really knows how to act.’ They are two different movies, two different roles, two completely different people.”

The singer, who already had a prominent role in the 2022 movie Bullet Train, has been investing more in his acting career. “You could say I’ve been dedicating a bit more of myself to acting,” he previously commented to Vanity Fair in 2023.

With HappyGilmore 2 scheduled to premiere in 2025 on Netflix, fans are eager to see how Bad Bunny continues to expand his talent beyond music and conquer new audiences in the world of cinema.
