Meghan Markle shared heartbreaking news with her followers: Guy, her beloved rescued beagle dog, has passed away. The Duchess of Sussex dedicated an emotional message on Instagram accompanied by images that showed the life full of love and adventures they shared together.
"In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a dog shelter in Canada. He had been in a shelter for animals to be euthanized in Kentucky and had been given a few days to live. I picked him up... and fell in love," wrote Meghan, reminiscing about the beginning of her bond with Guy.

The small beagle, known as "the little guy" for his fragility, was baptized by Meghan with the name "Guy". From that moment on, he became her loyal companion. "He was the best boy any girl could have asked for," she added.
Before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan lived in Toronto, where she was filming the series Suits. During those years, Guy was present in every important moment. "He was with me through it all: the tranquility, the chaos, the calm, the comfort," she expressed tenderly.
Guy's story is marked by his incredible ability to overcome obstacles. Shortly before moving to the United Kingdom, he suffered a serious accident that left him on the verge of paralysis. "He had to undergo surgeries for several months and couldn't leave the clinic," Meghan recalled. But it was thanks to Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick, who believed in his recovery, that Guy was able to walk again, defying all odds.
Even Harry, whom Meghan affectionately calls "H," was part of this chapter. "H and I would drive late at night, off duty, to see Guy while he recovered in Surrey for months," Meghan shared, showing how the little dog also brought their lives together.
With the upcoming arrival of her cooking show on Netflix, With Love, Meghan, which will premiere on January 15th, Meghan reflected on how Guy will continue to be present in her story. "Many of you will now see Guy in this new series, and I hope you understand why I am so devastated by his loss," she concluded.
Guy was not only a rescued dog, but a symbol of resilience and unconditional love, leaving an indelible mark on Meghan’s life and on those who knew his story.
