Who was Killadamente, the influential Dominican that tragically passed away?

She was a defender of the most vulnerable and a role model of courage and optimism.

Carol Acosta, widely recognized as Killadamente, was a beloved Dominican influencer who achieved fame thanks to her charming personality, her strong connection with her followers, and particularly for her relentless fight against bullying.

Unfortunately, on January 4th, his death was confirmed as he began to have trouble breathing during a meal.

Kathyan, Carol’s sister, mentioned that she started to choke and ran out of air, when recounting what seems to be a cardiorespiratory arrest. The precise causes of her death are awaited pending the results of the autopsy.

Carol came into the world in 1997 and used to call herself "Killadamente" because in the Dominican Republic the term 'killa' is used to refer to someone annoying. She had two older sisters and one younger brother. At the age of 12, she left the Dominican Republic and moved to New York to live with her grandmother, aunt, and cousins.

Killadamente used her social media to narrate her life, experiences, and spread positive messages that strengthened her followers, especially those who felt isolated or different.

Fight against bullying

One of the main reasons was to fight against bullying, an experience that personally affected her. Through her stories, she aimed to raise awareness and offer support to those who were suffering from this type of harassment in the educational environment.

Her passing created a deep sense of loss among her admirers and within the realm of digital platforms. Even though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy continues to inspire millions of people.

In short, Killadamente transcended her role as an influencer. She emerged as an advocate for the most disadvantaged and as a model of courage and optimism. Her journey reminds us of how crucial empathy, respect, and self-love are.

Their foray into social media began by creating an Instagram account to relieve the stress of the insults they were receiving at school. “(The account) started gaining popularity and girls started writing to me to share their experiences, so I continued posting content on social media. That, along with the support of people, helped me confront the problems,” she recounted in an interview.

The harassment she suffered led her to attempt to take her own life on three occasions. However, the support she received from people who had gone through similar experiences motivated her to keep going, and she chose to focus on providing support to those who are victims of harassment.
