LeBron congratulates his youngest son for choosing the University of Arizona as the next step in his career

After his performance on Thursday, LeBron had time to praise his younger son's college choice, made earlier this week.

The young Bryce James, youngest son of the legendary LeBron James, started the year with a very important decision: joining the basketball program at the University of Arizona for the upcoming season. The King, on his part, has shown his support and excitement for this new path that his son will embark on.

After an impressive 38-point performance with the Los Angeles Lakers this Thursday, marking his third best game in terms of points after the 40, LeBron had time to praise his younger son's college choice, made earlier this week.

What did LeBron James say about his son's choice to go to the University of Arizona?

"It was his decision, and he chose the place where he felt most at home," LeBron commented. "The coach (Tommy) Lloyd is straightforward and honest. He shared exactly what they think of him, both as a person and as a player. We are thrilled to be part of the Bear Down family now!"

According to AP, Bryce James has made a name for himself as a four-star recruit from Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, the same elite institution where his older brother, Bronny, showcased his talent during the 2022-23 season.

Bronny, after spending a year in Southern California, made history in sports by becoming the first father-son pair to play together in the NBA in October of last year.

Taking advantage of the news, LeBron, who celebrated his 40th birthday this Monday, also joked about his former NBA teammates Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye. "I have some not-so-amazing friends in Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye, who are alumni from there," LeBron joked with a smile. "So my excitement is a bit contained because of that, but other than that, we look forward to being part of the Tucson community."

Bryce had allegedly received a scholarship offer from Ohio State and even made an unofficial visit there last fall, showing interest in the elite program in his parents’ home state. LeBron has been a strong supporter of Ohio State athletics and has been closely following their recent success in the college football playoff semifinals, but in the end, the 17-year-old chose Arizona.
