The eternal rivalry with Leighton Meester
Blake Lively rose to fame as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl. But while in fiction her character and Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) were best friends, in real life the story was very different.
According to the series executive producer, Joshua Safran, both actresses were "cordial," but not friends. Their opposite personalities seemed to clash from the beginning. Additionally, it is rumored that they avoided interacting outside of the set, which led some of their castmates to take sides.

During the second season of Gossip Girl, Armie Hammer appeared as Serena's love interest. However, his time on the show was brief and not without controversy.
