The New Year’s special from Times Square has become a tradition that has been broadcast on television for several decades. Every year, various artists perform to entertain New Yorkers and viewers from around the world during the last hours of the year.

The main show originated from the celebration that has been taking place in New York for over a century, where a 5,500-kilogram crystal ball descends and marks the beginning of the New Year.

The Times Square crystal ball rises at 6:00 pm (Eastern Time in the United States), and its descent lasts exactly 60 seconds, being the main attraction in the New Year's Eve special.
Where can I watch the New Year's Eve special from Times Square?
Since 1973, the main program "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" has been broadcast, currently hosted by Ryan Seacrest, following Dick Clark's death a few years ago. In his honor, the name of the special was kept the same. This program starts airing at 8 p.m. on ABC and ABC Live.
The "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" will feature performances by Carrie Underwood and the Jonas Brothers in New York. They will also broadcast Blake Shelton's performance in Las Vegas and Alanis Morissette and Reneé Rapp's performance in Hollywood.
The CNN network has its own New Year's special titled "New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen", which also starts at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
"New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash" will be another special that can be watched on CBS and Paramount+. Keith Urban and Rachel Smith will be the hosts this year and will feature performances by Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, among others.
