What was the change that Carlos III made to the traditional Christmas greeting?

The firstborn of the late Isabel II has already recorded his speech and, instead of doing it from one of his royal residences, changed the setting for the first time in over a decade, as confirmed by Buckingham Palace.

This time Carlos III decided to film the long-awaited Christmas speech at Capilla Fitzrovia, the former chapel of a hospital in Pearson Square, in central London.

The reason would be to focus on healthcare after the difficult year that the Royal Family has had due to the illnesses of Charles III and Kate Middleton. In this way, the King wanted it to be a place related to healthcare to thank the efforts of healthcare personnel after his cancer diagnosis and that of his daughter-in-law, as well as to thank the involvement of all healthcare workers following the disturbances caused by the stabbings in Southport (England), as reported by The Telegraph. The British sovereign continues his recovery and will continue to receive treatment throughout 2025.

In the images released by Buckingham Palace, Charles III is seen wearing a navy blue suit and a patterned blue tie, accompanied by a Christmas tree decorated with sustainable ornaments such as pine cones, metal bells, twisted glass, and some glass decorations. After recording the message, the fir tree has been donated to the Croydon BME Forum and the “Can You C Me?” project by Macmillan Cancer Support. Subsequently, it will be placed at the Royal Trinity Hospice in Clapham, the oldest hospice in the United Kingdom.
