Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that he was against a government funding bill supported by Republicans, hence sharing the same opinion as Elon Musk.

Trump opposes the proposed resolution by the Republican House Speaker, Mike Johnson, according to a source familiar with Trump. The source confirmed that Trump told a Fox News host that he is "totally against" the House of Representatives.

This is the opinion of the new vice president about the bill.
The vice president-elect and senator JD Vance said that politicians should "pass a simplified bill" that does not give Democrats "everything they want."
"The Republicans want to support our farmers, pay for disaster relief services, and prepare our country for success in 2025. The only way to do this is with a temporary funding bill WITHOUT CONCESSIONS TO DEMOCRATS combined with a debt ceiling increase," wrote X.
Vance and Trump with Musk
"Anything else is a betrayal of our country," his statement said. Vance and Trump contribute to what Musk thinks, which according to him is plagued by unnecessary expenses.
"If no legislation is approved in the House and the Senate and signed by the president to fund the government after Friday night, the federal government would begin to implement a partial shutdown that could include job suspensions," reports cnbc.com on its website.
“‘Shutting down’ the government (which actually doesn’t shut down critical functions, by the way) is infinitely better than approving a horrible bill,” Musk wrote on his X social network. Musk stated that Congress “should not approve any bill” until Trump takes office on January 20.
