The Hawaiian photographer Hannah Kobayashi, 30 years old, returned to the United States after her father committed suicide for not finding her, and after the rest of her family launched a campaign in which they collected thousands of dollars to search for her. After keeping her relatives, friends, and the whole country in suspense, the woman returned safe and sound.

Kobayashi was reported missing on November 11th. She left Maui and said she was going to New York to visit some relatives, but no one heard from her again. Her father, Ryan Kobayashi, 58 years old, left Hawaii desperate to look for her, but he was found dead on November 24th near a parking lot at Los Angeles International Airport. The Los Angeles Police Department is treating his death as a suicide.

The tension rose for Hannah Kobayashi, as they couldn't reach her, neither by phone nor through social media. There were no traces of her, and they feared the worst. It wasn't until early December when investigators determined that the photographer had not been kidnapped, much less murdered. They saw images of her entering Mexico.
"She is voluntarily missing," reported Jim McDonnell, chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, during Monday night, as reported by The Associated Press (AP).
Hannah Kobayashi was welcomed by a lawyer in the United States.
Hannah Kobayashi's return to the United States was reported by TMZ, which indicated that she entered the country through California, and that she was not received by her family but by her lawyer, signaling that her relationship with her relatives did not end well. This is after her voluntary disappearance, which caused great distress for everyone, especially because her father committed suicide.
The loved ones of the person in the photograph launched a fundraising campaign on Gofundme to search for her, but they deactivated it on December 12, stating that she had already been found safe and sound. As of now, the collection has reached $44,366. Kobayashi’s relatives mentioned that they were willing to return the money to anyone who wishes to do so before December 18.
