The rapper Jay-Z appeared calm this past Monday as he attended the premiere of the new movie “Mufasa: The Lion King” in Los Angeles with his wife, Beyoncé, and their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. The singer posed with his family just a day after being accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000.

What is Jay-Z being accused of?
Last Sunday, it became public knowledge that a lawsuit filed in October against rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs, where a woman claimed to have been raped at a party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Initially, Jay-Z had been mentioned in the case as 'Celebrity A', but since Sunday it was revealed that he had been formally included in the civil lawsuit.
Shortly after the accusations came to light, however, the rapper vehemently denied having committed that crime, through a statement published on the X account (previously Twitter) of his company Roc Nation, strongly denying any wrongdoing and condemning the lawsuit as an "attempted blackmail."
"These accusations are so heinous that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one," he wrote. "Anyone who commits such a crime against a minor should be imprisoned, don't you think? These alleged victims would deserve real justice, if that were the case."
Jay-Z revealed that he is being the victim of an “attempted blackmail” and fears that his three children with Beyoncé may have to “endure” harassment as a result of the shocking accusations. The couple is particularly concerned about Blue Ivy, who is 12 years old and at her age will already have to face questions from her friends or classmates about this lawsuit. “It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice aimed at destroying families and the human spirit,” he lamented.
