The Kremlin reported on Monday that someone close to the circle of the recently elected President Donald Trump was discussing a peace plan for Ukraine, unlike Joe Biden, who was only seeking to continue the conflict.

Waltz said that Trump had been "very concerned" about the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and that the war must be brought to "a responsible end."
"What we need to discuss is who is at that table, whether it's an agreement, a truce, how to get both parties to sit at the table and then what the framework of an agreement is," said Waltz.
What does the Kremlin think of Trump's plan?
Peskov reported that the Kremlin is taking note of Waltz's comments and that President Vladimir Putin has stated many times that he is willing to engage in dialogue.
"Indeed, from the circle of Trump supporters and those who have been nominated for future positions in the upcoming administration, the word 'peace' or 'peace plan' is being heard," Peskov said when asked about Waltz's comments."

"No such words are heard from the current administration (Biden), while provocative and escalating actions continue. That is the reality we are facing," he stated.
Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022 and now possesses 20% of Ukrainian territory.
This is what Putin asks for in order to negotiate peace.
In June of this year, the Russian president said he had conditions for peace talks to take place: that Ukraine abandon its ambitions to join NATO and hand over all four provinces claimed by Moscow.
