As every year, the Tom Turkey float is already getting ready for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The holiday season in the United States traditionally kicks off with this famous parade in New York City, which has been celebrated for over a hundred years. This year’s parade will feature 17 giant balloons with characters, 22 floats, 15 new and traditional inflatables, 11 marching bands, 700 clowns, and 10 performance groups, among others.
The parade starts in the Upper West Side of Manhattan and ends at Macy's flagship store in Herald Square, on 34th street, which serves as the stage and backdrop for the live performances. Here are the details about the parade:
What are the news for this year's famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?
The parade will take place on Thursday, November 28th and will be broadcasted in the United States by NBC and the streaming platform Peacock. There will be six new balloons featuring prominent characters, including Minnie Mouse, "Extraordinary Noorah" with The Elf on the Shelf, Gabby from "Gabby's Dollhouse", Goku from "Dragon Ball", Marshall from "Paw Patrol", and a new "Spider-Man".
On the other hand, the new floats include those from brands such as Disney Cruise Line, Haribo, "Wednesday" from Netflix, Universal Orlando Resorts, and "The Grannies Car" from "Bluey" by BBC Studios. The Nickelodeon and Paramount series "Dora the Explorer" will also have a float and a balloon. A new float will showcase the food brand Rao's, featuring a knight and a dragon battling made with real pasta elements. Another novelty will be a float celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Bronx Zoo with representations of a tiger, a giraffe, a zebra, and a gorilla.
Among the live performances will be Jennifer Hudson, a Grammy, Oscar, Emmy, and Tony award-winning artist, as well as the global pop icon and Grammy award winner, Kylie Minogue, and Tony, Grammy, and Emmy award winner, Billy Porter. There will also be a Latin presence with artists such as Sebastián Yatra and Natti Natasha.
Other guest stars will include the model and reality TV actress, Ariana Madix, Broadway singer Idina Menzel, hip-hop artist T-Pain, several players from the WNBA champion women’s basketball team, New York Liberty, and the country music duo, Dan + Shay.
